First Capital, Inc. (FCAP) has reported 25.75 percent rise in profit for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2016. The company has earned $1.76 million, or $0.53 a share in the quarter, compared with $1.40 million, or $0.51 a share for the same period last year.

Revenue during the quarter surged 32.24 percent to $7.35 million from $5.56 million in the previous year period. Net interest income for the quarter rose 33.88 percent over the prior year period to $5.80 million. Non-interest income for the quarter rose 42.74 percent over the last year period to $1.75 million.

Net interest margin contracted 66 basis points to 3.48 percent in the quarter from 4.14 percent in the last year period.

Return on average assets moved down 24 basis points to 0.96 percent in the quarter from 1.20 percent in the last year period. At the same time, return on average equity decreased 55 basis points to 8.96 percent in the quarter from 9.51 percent in the last year period.
